In his address to the forum, the UAE Minister of Economy underlined the close and strategic ties between his country, the Central Asian states and Azerbaijan. “The United Arab Emirates enjoys strong strategic economic and political relations with the Central Asian States and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the development aspirations of the two sides coincide in a number of areas of mutual interest. This will promote further cooperation and the exchange of experiences to the benefit of all Arab countries, the Central Asian states and Azerbaijan” he said.
“We should also consider exploring new mechanisms to facilitate the flow of tourism between countries participating in the Forum. This will promote the sustainable development of tourism in both regions by exploiting the tourism potential of all our countries”.
With this in mind, the United Arab Emirates presented its ambitious vision for the tourism and aviation sectors, with strategies aimed at boosting the contribution of these sectors to the country's GDP and consolidating its position as a leading global tourist destination. The UAE's National Aviation Decarbonization Roadmap illustrates the country's commitment to environmental sustainability and the reduction of carbon emissions in the aviation sector. The goal of achieving annual production of 700 million liters of sustainable fuel (SAF) by 2030 was also highlighted.
In addition, the UAE offered its expertise in managing water scarcity, a major global challenge. The Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative aims to raise awareness of this issue and promote technological innovation to meet this challenge. A strong commitment by the United Arab Emirates to share knowledge and experience to help solve pressing global problems.
The forum also highlighted the importance of agricultural cooperation, cultural and scientific exchanges, and the strengthening of links between universities and specialized centers. The aim of these exchanges is to share best practices and experiences, creating opportunities for collaboration and mutual learning between participating countries.
Strong support for the Caucasus region: the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Arab Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Economy, as well as the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Kazakhstan took part in the forum.
